Biography:
Peggy O. Hunter, M.D. is a Diplomat of the American Board of Dermatology and a Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology.
Dr. Hunter has been practicing Dermatology in South Florida since 2008 with Dr. Charles Griff in West Palm Beach, and then Palm Beach Dermatology in Lake Worth. Prior to this, she practiced with Macaione and Papa Dermatology in Voorhees, NJ.
Growing up in Baltimore, Maryland, Dr. Hunter was actively involved in the arts, and attended the prestigious Peabody Preparatory Institute of Music for classical piano. After graduating with honors from the University of Maryland at College Park, she continued her studies and obtained a Masters of social work degree. Dr. Hunter completed her post baccalaureate studies in the premedical sciences while working full time as a psychiatric social worker at the Eastern Pennsylvania Psychiatric Institute in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
Dr. Hunter obtained her medical degree from the Medical College of Pennsylvania /Hahnemann University (now Drexel University College of Medicine) where she was awarded numerous clinical clerkship honors. In 2002, she completed an internship in internal medicine at Abington Memorial Hospital in Abington, Pennsylvania. Dr. Hunter received her dermatology residency training at Hahnemann University Hospital where she served as chief resident.
Dr. Hunter has spoken professionally at regional dermatology meetings, has published chapters in a dermatology reference book, and has written articles featured in peer- reviewed journals.
Dr.. Hunter has the distinction of being awarded Top Physician in her specialty as voted by her peers in Palm Beach County in 2018 and 2019. She is passionate about her practice, and takes pride in using her training to treat patients as individuals, taking each person’s unique situation and history into account.
Outside of the office, Dr. Hunter loves to spend time with her husband and children and still practices classical piano. She has participated as a performing physician for the Kretzer Piano Music Foundation, helping raise funds for deserving musical children.
